Aim

  • Develop students’ understanding of the principles of cancer chemotherapy
  • Enable the practitioner to safely administer cytotoxic chemotherapy
  • Manage the holistic care of the patient requiring chemotherapy

Target Audience

This module is for nurses who wish to develop knowledge and expertise in the administration of cytotoxic chemotherapy and the care and management of people receiving chemotherapy.

Pre-requisites: Current NMC registration; Minimum 1 years’ experience in appropriate health care setting; Phlebotomy and cannulation skills.

  • Online Induction day: Monday 11 January 2021
  • Online Theory week: 18 - 22 January 2021
  • Clinical: 10 days placement
  • Online Exam: 20 April 2021

6.5 days remote contact over 15 weeks (1 day online induction, 1 full week of online teaching, 1.5 hour online exam) plus 10 days placement in clinical practice
