The aim of this study day is to provide a comprehensive introduction to the care of Teenagers and Young Adults (16-24years) with cancer. Every year around 2400 Teenagers and Young Adults are diagnosed with cancer in the UK. TYAs have unique needs that are not met within the traditional model of paediatric and adult healthcare. The needs of young cancer patients in this age group are different to those of both paediatric and adult patients not only in terms of disease-specific treatment, but also in the context of physical, social and educational development. Come and hear from the regions team of expert practitioners and increase your knowledge and skills in supporting young people through a cancer diagnosis.
Health and social care staff who support teenagers and young adults (16-24years) who have been diagnosed with cancer, or relevant professionals with an interest in this area.
